OMEGA 3 - EPA +
Titrated to 53% in EPA
|
| For emotional well-being |
| Clinical trials have shown the incomparable contribution of food supplements of Omega 3 to the treatment of depression or certain mental problems. It has been found that these illnesses are accompanied by an increase in the levels of arachidonic acid (AA) in the brain, a substance which comes from an excess of Omega 6. However, one of the constituants of Omega-3 acids, EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) is able to counteract production of AA. Which just shows the benefit of Omega 3 high in EPA as a supplement for our emotional well-being ! |

| Detailed information |
The omega 3 fatty acids are the question of the moment. However, few are the products that satisfy the quality and efficiency criteria one could expect.
It has been clinically proven that a substantial intake of essential fatty acids of the omega 3 type perceptibly helps curing depression and stabilizing the mood. In particular, due to the presence of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), which is one of the components of omega 3 along with DHA (docosahexanoic acid).
60 % of the brain mass is made of fatty acids. Among them, the omega 3, who in addition to their benefits for the heart, the joints, the skin, etc, are internal components essential for the brain cell membranes. As a matter of fact, they are namely involved in neurotransmission and the receptive brain functions.
We all have an emotional brain and a cognitive brain, the areas of which are separately distributed inside the organ. Now, facing and managing emotional stress requires a particular good balance between omega 3 and omega 6 polyunsaturated fatty acids. Many studies have indeed shown that, in cases of schizophrenia or depression, the levels of omega 3 polyunsaturated acids in the brain cells are abnormally low, whereas the AA (arachidonic acid) levels derived from omega 6 are too high.
The use of omega 3 in cases of depression, schizophrenia or simply emotional unbalance is thus crucial. But, so that the emotional areas of the brain can function correctly, they must be provided an EPA complement, which is indeed the natural component of omega 3 that inhibits the production of arachidonic acid.
However, in order not to reduce the production of arachidonic acid (AA) for too long, it is advised to return to using omega 3, the EPA and DHA contents of which match the one found naturally (about 3 to 2).
