Gymnema is a plant that grows in the tropical forests of northern and western India; its therapeutic qualities have been known for a long time. It actually contains lots of molecules, brought together under the name of gymnemic acid, which have properties of regenerating pancreas cells secreting insulin (the hormone responsible for the body’s assimilation of sugar) and improving glucose assimilation by increasing enzyme activity at this level. Furthermore, gymnema slows down the stimulating action of adrenalin on the liver, thus reducing glucose production and therefore blood sugar levels. As for chromium, it is the main mineral intervening in insulin secretion. It also increases the ability to link itself to target cells. Clinical studies show that chromium may be beneficial to those suffering from glucose intolerance.
To prevent taste for sweet : open one capsule and drop its content directly on the toungue or in an infusion.
