Health claims

In 1989, Commission E approved the use of silymarin extract standardised to 70-80% to treat liver poisoning, and as an adjuvant treatment for hepatitis and liver cirrhosis. In 2002, the World Health Organization recognised essentially the same usages.

 

Our extract is 80% silymarin and 30% silybin (the active substance in silymarin).

This is a milk thistle concentrate, 25: 1, so it takes 25 kg of milk thistle to produce only 1 kg of our milk thistle extract. Our product contains no excipient, the dry extract is obtained from an innovative process, hydro ethanol extraction that guarantees a free extract of methanol or other harmful solvents.

Silymarin, a substance contained in the seeds of the milk thistle, is particularly beneficial for the liver. It helps in case of hepatitis and cirrhosis by supporting the reconstruction of the organ.

Silymarin also supports discharge from the gall bladder and is thus useful in cases of hepatic deficiency or gallstones.

Milk thistle finally is recommended in cases of frequent nosebleed, heavy periods, counteracts travel sickness and cardiac problems.

Our silymarin is extracted from the seeds of the milk thistle by a laboratory to the pharmaceutical standards in force, which guarantees a very high quality and thus efficacy for our product.

Silymarin, a substance found in the milk thistle seeds, is particularly beneficial for the liver. It helps in case of hepatitis and cirrhosis by facilitating the liver's reconstruction. In addition, silymarin facilitates drainage of the gallbladder and can thus be useful in cases of hepatic insufficiency or gall-stones. The milk thistle tree is therefore recommended for persons who suffer from frequent nosebleeds, abundant menstrual flow, or travel sickness and cardiac disorders.
