Mala is one of the objects most widely worn by the Tibetans who wear it around the neck or around their wrists. They use it to count mantra recitations following the rhythm of their prayers. The mala's beads polished by the mantras, these prayers are repeated endlessly can be made of wood, seeds or gems.
The wood of Thuya Sutchuenensis is very scarce and particularly fragrant and can be found in Kandze, a Tibetan region in the province of Sichuan. It is wildly used for incense production.
