Description

3 billion years’ old, spirulina and chlorella are both rich sources of protein, essential fatty acids, minerals (magnesium, iron, chromium) and vitamins (B2, B12). Combined, they have a revitalising effect on the body.

Spirulina is a blue-green microalgae belonging to the cyanobacteria family and is mainly found in the warm waters of India, Chile and Mexico. Spirulina has numerous healing and preventive properties; rich in iron, it is an exceptional source of carotenoids. Through its high fibre and protein content, it helps you feel fuller by regulating appetite. The phycocyanin present in spirulina stimulates the immune system.

Chlorella is a microscopic green freshwater algae from the Chlorophyceae class of algae. Used since time immemorial in Asia, it has many beneficial properties. This nutrient-rich algae is more than 50% protein. Its exceptionally high chlorophyll concentration (4 times more than spirulina) boosts its antioxidant action. Not only does this help reduce cholesterol, but it also makes it an excellent detoxifier.

Our extracts are sourced from organic aquaculture, meaning they are subject to very strict pesticide analysis and offer maximum purity

Detailed information

PRODUCT PROPERTIES: Our product is a natural alternative to synthetic multivitamins. It is an important source of protein, iron, carotenoids, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Low in calories and a regulator of lipid (fats) levels in the blood, spirulina also promotes weight loss. It acts in synergy with chlorella, which has detoxifying properties and decreases arterial stiffness[1].

COMMON NAME: Spirulina

PRODUCT: Naturland India Spirulina

PART USED: Whole algae

SCIENTIFIC NAME: Spirulina platensis (Gomont) Geitler

PROPERTIES: Important source of protein, iron, carotenoids, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Due to its high nutritional value, it helps combat anaemia, demineralisation and exhaustion.

OUR PRODUCT: To guarantee the highest quality, our spirulina powder is certified organic by ECOCERT, USDA ORGANIC and Naturland™.

COMMON NAME: Chlorella

PRODUCT: Naturland Chlorella

PART USED: Whole algae

SCIENTIFIC NAME:  Chlorella vulgaris

PROPERTIES: As well as being a natural source of protein, numerous scientific studies suggest that chlorella can be useful in inhibiting the absorption of dioxins through food and the reabsorption of dioxins already stored in the intestinal tract, preventing the accumulation of harmful substances in the body.

OUR PRODUCT: To guarantee the highest quality, our chlorella microalgae powder is a Naturland™ certified organic aquaculture product, in accordance with Regulation (EC) 889/2008.  It is native to Taiwan, where it is grown in pure mountain spring water. Constant sunlight and an average temperature of 25°C throughout the year make it ideal for growing freshwater microalgae such as chlorella.

Abstract: The effect of Chlorella pyrenoidosa on fecal excretion and liver accumulation of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxin in C57BL/6N mice administered dioxin was examined. Mice were administered 2.2 μg of 1,2,3,4,7,8-hexachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (H6CDD) dissolved in corn oil once after a period of acclimatization, after which they were fed either a basal diet, a 10% C. pyrenoidosa diet, or a 10% Spinach diet, for five weeks.
Among mice fed the 10% C. pyrenoidosa diet, cumulative fecal excretion of H6CDD over the first week following administration was significantly greater (9.2-fold) than that observed among mice fed the basal diet.
Moreover, excretion during the fifth week following administration of H6CDD was still significantly greater (3.1-fold) among mice fed the 10% C. pyrenoidosa diet than among mice fed the basal diet. Five weeks after administration of H6CDD, liver accumulation of H6CDD in mice fed the 10% C. pyrenoidosa diet was significantly less than that observed among mice fed either the basal diet and the Spinach diet (by 27.9% and 34.8%, respectively).

These findings suggest that C. pyrenoidosa may be useful in inhibiting the absorption of dioxins via food and the reabsorption of dioxins stored already in the body in the intestinal tract, thus preventing accumulation of dioxins within the body.
