Description: White Willow
White willow (Salix alba L.) is a plant with body strengthening and restorative properties1, making it the perfect choice when we are not feeling 100%. It also contributes to healthy muscles and joints2, the main pain points that tell us our body needs proper rest.
White willow is a fast-growing, deciduous tree that can grow up to 26 m tall3 and it is grown in temperate areas such as central and southern Europe, North America, Africa and western Asia4. Its bark contains the main active compounds, salicylic acid derivatives, including salicin5.
At metabolic level, salicin participates as a precursor of acetylsalicylic acid. Acetylsalicylic acid, commonly known as aspirin, is a compound that, when it is ingested, is involved in inflammatory processes with effects on blood circulation and platelet aggregation. That’s why this compound is frequently used in cases of inflammation and pain5.
Our 100% plant-based product contains dry extract of white willow bark standardised to contain 25% salicin. Each capsule provides 40 mg of salicin, offering the highest possible quality.
