Quatrefolic^® is the fourth generation of folates especially designed to be taken before and during pregnancy – a product that provides 400 µg of folic acid per tablet in its most assimilable and active form, (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate glucosamine salt¹. 

This natural folate must be converted into its active form, 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF), to obtain the benefits of folic acid. However, its metabolism may be altered and we not achieved optimal levels of 5-MTHF. What is folic acid for and how can you get it?
